Welcome to History@Work
Why should we be interested in our history and heritage?
Our past has influenced us and is embodied in our cultures, professions, organisations, families and ourselves. Understanding these influences helps us to better understand who we are and why we do what we do. We may even use this to positively influence the generations that come after us.
Professional historians are trained in the skills required for this historical understanding – archival research; oral history; reading; writing; imagining; debating; interpreting images, objects, landscapes and stories; and conveying in an engaging manner the significant stories of the past.
Please explore this website and I hope you will learn as much about the art and craft of history as you do about how I can help you with your own history.
